Astro von Auma is a beautiful, 12-14 month old, smaller sized Shepherd mix.  Astro may still be learning his way around the rescue, but his calm demeanor makes him a volunteer favorite.  He walks really well on leash – his uncertainty comes across as a tendency to stay close like a good boy.  Once he’s comfortable, Astro loves attention and will be quick to ask you for some petting (who doesn’t love some good petting)!  He does a great job in his playgroups – even as the new kid on the block, he likes to explore the yard and respectfully pays his dues to the other pups.  Astro definitely prefers calmer dogs like himself – he’ll avoid trouble when he sees it coming!  If you’re looking for a great companion who just needs a little help sorting out his place in the grand scheme of things, Astro is your boy!
